Party like it won’t be back for another four years!

It’s been a hell of a couple of weeks, let me tell you. And i’ve been to Los Angeles a couple of times, and then sick, and then trying to catch up at work. So….

So apologies.

I’ll write much more interesting stuff quite soon.

In the meantime:

1) Chris, if you’re reading this, thank you. Crying at my desk is not attractive. But thank you from the bottom of my heart.

2) On a completely unrelated topic, go see “In Bruges.” It stars Colin Farrell and is a much better sequel to “Lock, Stock, and two Smoking Barrels” than anything you can think of (even though it’s not actually a sequel. It’s clever and original, and set in Bruges (no spoiler, that). It manages to be dark while not being oppressively so. And it contains three actors from the Harry Potter movies in (somewhat) marked departures from their usual roles.

So I made it deep in a “Razz” tournament last night. It was a sattelite into a larger tournament where first place was worth (at last count) $35k. What place did I finish in? 27th. Where did they start paying entries? 24th.

I should probably have folded my way to victory. Still, please explain, if you can, how the villain called me with ten high and all the fours and fives out.
[And Razz is seven-card stud where you try to make the worst hand. The "best" hand being A-2-3-4-5.]

PS I’m working on another poker math post, some Doctor Who-related stuff, another pome, some more “songs you shouldn’t play at a wedding,” and another list of “songs you shouldn’t play at a strip club.”
